NATIONAL WATER QUALITY MONITORING PROGRAMME (NWMP)

One of the main functions of the Board is to monitor the water quality of water bodies so that a comprehensive programme for prevention and control on abatement of water pollution can be planned.

In order to assess the water quality in the state, the Nagaland Pollution Control Board in collaboration with the Central Pollution Control Board under the National Water Quality Monitoring Programme (NWMP) monitors eight stations consisting of three rivers namely Dhansiri (six stations) and Chathe (one station) at Dimapur District and Dzu (one station) at Kohima District on quarterly basis.
