World Rivers Day – 24 Sept 2023 – Poster

In 2005, the UN launched the “Water for Life” decade. This was done to create awareness among the public about the need for care of water resources. Mark Angelo initiated a moment to clean the Thompson River in British Columbia in September 1980 and its success was marked as BC Rivers Day. Following BC Rivers Day, a number of river enthusiasts gathered to organize the inauguration of World Rivers Day. It is celebrated on 4th Sunday of every September. This year, it will be observed on 24th September.
